DRM, as an industry institution, has an almost comically bad track record when it comes to actually protecting content. Every DVD ever made is trivially rippable. Every Blu-ray. Every streaming service has been ripped by someone, somewhere.
It all began last December when WBD agreed to sell its Warner Bros. studio and HBO Max streaming service to the streaming giant Netflix. Days later, Paramount Skydance lobbed in a hostile bid to buy all of WBD.
